Hi All
Time is flying by too quickly. I can't believe I haven't had time to post since late November 2011 but I've been so busy - but I'm here now so here goes....
I'm still working on the huge quilt for a work friend but hope to have the main body of it off to my quilter in the next couple of weeks while I get on with the very ambitious panels for the sides and bottom to attach later.
In the past couple of months my quilter has done me proud with the Space quilt for Jet having rockets and stars in the quilting and the Dinosaur quilt for Brennan has dinosaurs in the quilting design......genius. The quilting on these can be found at http://www.jansmusing.blogspot.com/
Thanks Jan!
Mmmm and what have I done apart from taking photos of the finished Space and Dinosaur before I gave them to happy kidz?....I made a buggy quilt called Cats and Dogs! for Eden and well! she loved the cats hiding place but the fleece foot muff on the back....not so much! and well, that's a whole other posting but I vermicelli quilted it myself and did a good job so as they say, 'practice makes perfect....or in this case...nearly perfect'.
Here it is -
And here are the cats - all present and accounted for. From the left is Jade cat; Mistigris and the Mouse, and finally Gatchelou the Fisherman. Peeping out from their hidey pocket on the top back of the quilt.
Dinosaur quilt for B which is quilted with dinosaurs and stars (courtesyof Jan) but silly me, I forgot to photograph these two when finished as I was off on holiday. They were both really lovely! These are pre-quilting pics -
And for J, a Space quilt which has rockets and stars in the quilting pattern - all done free-hand (no pre-programmed stitches here guys!) and amazing....and she opens to orders from quilters.
As I said, go to Jan's blog to see great quilting on these last 2 quilts.

Underground Railroad blocks
Here's my North Star block which is the penultimate block in this project, the final block being a story to tie all the Underground Railroad quilt together.
North Star...
This came with mini photos of blocks in place but I replaced them with photos of my own blocks I've made to tie everything together. I've really enjoyed this project with my online quilting friends and have acquired some fabric for the back of the quilt which will be perfect so watch this space....but not too closely as I need some time to complete this quilt, and this is a keeper quilt so it's all mine.....

Molly's Quilt & Tote bag
Hi All
Ooops! I made a mistake with the deadline for the quilt order for a friend. Thought I had about 2 weeks but I was wrong. I mixed up hers and my grandaughter's birthday so had to get on with it during my Easter holiday. YAY! happy to say all finished in time for her birthday party tomorrow. Just hope she likes it. I made a pillowcase for the quilt to go on Molly's bed which turns into a Tote bag for carrying to sleep-overs.
Here's the finished quilt & bag -

The quilt has 86 hearts quilted on it. The cover is a pillowcase with 3 layers of quilted petals on. The centre petals hide a photo of Molly and this turns into a Tote bag as the hidden handles are velcroed to the top of the pillow.
To all those who are unwell in Liverpool, Canada and UK, I hope you all feel better soon.

Underground Railroad Sampler quilt
Hi All
Here is is my 3rd block of the Underground Railroad Sampler quilt. It came out with slightly wonky spokes but I'm guessing that in the 1800's, the wheels weren't always perfect so I'm happy with it.

This is called the Wagon Wheel.

Here is J's Friendship Swap block - theme Leaves

I've done a row-by-row and a 17x17 inch block for another Round Robin group but I can't post these photos yet until they have been received....

Hi All
It seems like such a long time since I last posted a message but I've been busy, busy, busy with work and life..... I've done lots of little projects over the past weeks for swaps I've been in and also received my Poppies blocks from my PP Friendship Swap group which are all gorgeous - just my own block to make now....

I had a great birthday this year thanks to all the lovely hand-made birthday cards and B&W fabric gifts from the PP Birthday Club which was fantastic - and I received some other beautiful fabrics as well as Hobbycraft vouchers, as well as lots of other lovely cards and presents off family and friends, so thanks to everyone for a great birthday!

And hooray! I managed to finish both Brennan's and Jet's Halloween Quilts and delivered them today....both Brennan and Jet said they were 'awesome', so thumbs up x 2!

Another PP project I'm involved with is the Underground Railway Sampler Quilt blocks of which we have completed 2 from the set and here are the 2 blocks so far - Jacob's Ladder and Monkey Wrench .........

A lot has been going on at work which has been challenging for want of a better word but hopefully things will settle down soon and then before we know it, it'll be Christmas again.
I know some of you are having a tough time of it at the moment so I want to wish you well soon. Positive thoughts are coming your way to Liverpool and Canada from me and my family.
Lots of hugs from

A Sofa quilt for my niece
Hi All
I've also finished my niece's quilt and she has received it safely which I'm relieved about, and she loves it though it seemed she was confused as she thought I was making her a set of 6" storage bags...heehee! I chose the theme as she was an Autumn baby and she chose the fabric for her "bags" so it will hopefully go with her decor too!
Here it is -

Leaving gift for a colleague
Hi All
Nothing to do with the PP, B&W Swap 2010 but as Bev leaves her job at the college next Wednesday after 23 years, I wanted to make her something of her choice. After seeing my friend's Doggie quilt that I made for Christmas, Bev chose a Cat quilt which she really wanted for her 2 black & white cats Ferdy and Cola. So here it is....another job done and ticked off the list!

4 quilts for 4 special grandchildren
Hi All
I have finally finished the 4 quilts I made at the same time....never again! Too much at once for my liking but really pleased they are done...and the children and their parents LOVE them! Yay!!!!
All four were made with fabrics I already had, except a little help from a friend! I have to say my room looks so much bigger now they've gone to new home and four of my workboard 'post it' notes have been removed from my work list, but I'm sure that'll fill up again with the new swap groups I'm in. And here they are -
First below, is Baby Eden's quilt - Penguins in night-time snowfall
Second is Jet's Ice Cream quilt - made from the Ice Cream swap with PP friends
Third is Brennan's quilt made with the Britannia FQ's I won in PP group
and finally, the fourth quilt is for my eldest granddaughter Georgia...
All done and dusted...........

My Colourful Batik Quilt
Hi All,

This quilt has attracted some interest for the pattern, so I'm going to add the pattern here. I don't know the official name of the pattern but I saw the picture of the quilt in a quilting magazine many, many years ago and kept it as I loved the design. I've coloured in the sample to show how the colourways alternate, Eg. one square has purple in the centre and lime on the outer pieces of the block; and the other has lime in the centre and purple on the outer pieces. To make it easier to track, I used the same colour (yellow) for one direction of the chevron/arrow on my quilt.
The pattern in 3rd pic above is a square - place the point in one corner (ie. the bottom left) and take your line on graph paper to exactly the middle of the square, for example in a 6 inch square, the line would meet at 3 ins on the sides. So the pattern consists of 2 pieces, the centre is pattern 1 and you cut one and the outer is pattern 2 and you cut 2. (Please also remember to add your 1/4 in seam allowance around all edges).
Hope I haven't made it too confusing...let me know if any problems and I'll do my best to help.

K & A's Quilt

Hi All
I have finished K and A's quilt.... they wanted a B&W 60's/70's style look to the quilt and for the pattern to be quite 'busy'. I finished it yesterday and they love it.
It has a mixture of the Beatles, different flower prints, swirls, zig-zags, office print, toile print, chequer board, dog and cat prints in the centre blocks with matching borders on each block and is finished off with a floral border.
And here it is...
