I'm on a roll now so just an update on other stuff...
I've finally made the decision to join my online patchwork group's 2012 UnFinishedObjects Zapping! challenge as I am guilty of starting projects then not completing them. I am getting some assistance from my fab quilter mate Jan who does prize-worthy quilting patterns on a much-loved short-arm Bernina machine. Together these two producing amazing work and I am really happy to trust my quilts to her skills as health issues have prevented me from doing my own quilting for the past few months. Go have a look at Jan's blog to see the gorgeous work she has done for many years and continues to do.

I've also joined the 2012 Postcard swap as I love the postcards for my collection and have made some for friends and a really lovely Postcard storage box  - - - - - -

and a diary cover too....

...and I've joined the 2012 Birthday club too so lots of gifts going to be passed around this year YAY!
As a tight group, we responded to some upsetting news of a fellow quilter J, by making pink and white/cream blocks for another member Rosemary to put together into quilts for sale to raise money for Breast Cancer Charity. These will be raffled over the next few months to raise much needed money for research to help to stamp out cancer.
Will post some photos when I have more time but still lots of work ongoing with I hope, some finished objects to boot.....out of my UFO stack.

Underground Railroad block - Sail Boat

...and here's my Sail Boat block. I think there's one more block to make for this and a further optional block with the story on which I'll do too...
Lovely easy block to do. The blue 'sea' fabric I had on this yesterday, has now be replaced by a more muted fabric which I like better and it ties all the blocks together too.

Bunting for Eden's room

Hi All
Just finished Eden's room bunting - photos are not true colours as they are pastels rather than bolder colours as shown. Trouble photographing as too long for my walls so I've taken pics of each part of her name.

Photos are rubbish but it'll look so much nicer on her bedroom wall.

Introducing Ollie-phant for Eden

Hi All
Hope you're all well and looking forward to the promise of better weather this week, at least in the UK.
I've made a red 'phant' as requested by Eden named Ollie-phant and here she is with her buddy Effie-phant...
Hope she likes them and Harriet Hare. I'm still working on curtains and bunting for her bedroom then I'll be able to post to her. She thinks every parcel that arrives at her house are her toys.

Latest quilty work to date

Hi All
Not so good news - Work is still undecided so still in No man's land but plodding on....
Pretty good news - Nearing the end of my course so that's good as it'll give me more time to get involved with quilty-related swaps and to catch up with friends more often.

Very good news - Booked my room at Etap for 3 nights, got my train tickets really cheap (only £21 from South Essex to Birmingham Int. return) - saved over £30 whoopee, and hopefully have the tickets covered too.....

Here's my latest little quilty stuffs -
Order for a Father's Day gift for an elderly housebound man who loves birds
Double sided cushion cover -

And a tray/table mat too

Hope he likes them

Underground Railroad block No. 6

Hi All
Once again I'm struggling with health problems which is a continuation of the virus I had in late November. The Doctor says it's a combination of post viral infection, fibromyalgia and asthma so at the moment I'm just resting and sleeping as no energy to do anything else....

I thought I'd put my latest Underground Railroad block up as I've now photographed it - here is my Basket block -
And here's my Crossroads block too

Wow doesn't time fly......

Hi All,
I can't believe it's been this long since I had time to post on here... like a lot of people, I've been ill with a virus and head cold since last posting and I'm still trying to get on top of the latter...
I hope you all had as good a Christmas and New Year as possible though I know some are dealing with their own problems...to them I send my love and positive thoughts your way....

So what have I been up to sewing-wise...I didn't feel much like doing anything while under the eweather so concentrated on easily achievable bits that took not too much thought, energy or time. Let's see -
I did the Carpenter's Wheel for the PP Underground Railroad BOM
and more recently the Bear's Paw BOM too. Looking forward to the next BOM soon.

I keep having to play around with the posting as photos jump all over the place so I'll post several times to catch up.

And Another Bag....

Hi All
I took my bag to work to show a colleague and it was snapped up within seconds..... hahaha! and an order for another in same fabric for a friend upcountry.

I had already started a second one in a Michael Miller fabric which I love and I so wanted a bag in this fabric but when I made it - I didn't like it much afterall. Strange how you can love the fabric but dislike the end product... so I showed my friend and the money was in my hand double quick....
Here is the second of my bags -

What! No proper sewing for a month.....

Hi All
I have finally done some 'proper' sewing. The only sewing I did up to today was a friendship block. I've been so busy at work and having tried to drop some meds (with permission from my Doctor) I became unwell a few days ago and had to resume them again. Doh! But feel a lot better today so hopefully back on track again.

As I've had to rest, I thought I'd do some bookmark presents and a postcard for a colleague who has a special birthday. Then I thought I may attempt a bag from my new book which I love - "The Perfect Handmade Bag" by Clare Youngs - 35 bags to make by recycling fabrics. I really love the bag and it's perfect for the summer and so easy to make. I kind of recycled some fabric from my stash so I feel that counts ..... Anyway here's my bag and other things from today.

Needle Felting

In another group I've recently joined several of us are trying out Needle Felting. I've done wet Felting with my granchildren but Needle Felting .... I actually enjoyed having a go at this thanks to Di T for sending me her Needle Felting kit that she didn't need anymore, so thank you Di. I received a complete starter kit which was really great. Whether I can produce anything artistic is another matter but time will tell....so watch this space....not too closely though!

2012 Olympic Quilt block

Hi All

On PP we have decided to make a 2012 Quilt for a country taking part in the Olympics. The theme chosen was very British - the good old 'cup of tea'. Each of the participants will make a single block using the 'Teacup' which was sent to us by another member. We were to set the 'teacup into a star using fabric and design of our choice....and here is mine!

'Tea in the Rose Garden'

All ready to go into the post when the postal strikes end....

Jingly Jester Bag

Hi All
I've made a sample Jester Bag from PP Irene's pattern that she sent me, and it turned out really good. May think about using a heavier fabric next time but it only took 10 mins to sew up and add the jingle bells - and then fill it with gift goodies........

Here is my first attempt -
