This is my version of the challenge 'make a cushion in a week' in which I added all the elements but did my own thing to suit me!

Underground Railroad blocks
Here's my North Star block which is the penultimate block in this project, the final block being a story to tie all the Underground Railroad quilt together.
North Star...
This came with mini photos of blocks in place but I replaced them with photos of my own blocks I've made to tie everything together. I've really enjoyed this project with my online quilting friends and have acquired some fabric for the back of the quilt which will be perfect so watch this space....but not too closely as I need some time to complete this quilt, and this is a keeper quilt so it's all mine.....

Catching up with you all....
Hi All
To those of you who are below par for whatever reasons, I'm sending out virtual hugs to you, and 'feel better soon' wishes too!I'm still working on the quilt for my work colleague but progress is very slow as I'm suffering from a fibromyalgia flare-up and boy! the pain in my arms is severe, so much so that simple tasks like just picking up a hot kettle is proving difficult and painful. I know it'll get better if I pace myself and rest so that's exactly what I'm going to have to do. I've been doing smaller (less taxing on my arms) projects in between so after completing machine applique on 4 blocks for above quilt, I managed to put the binding on my Rennie Macintosh wallhanging yesterday. I loved this when I saw it and with a gift from a quilty friend, I've completed the wallhanging for me! YES ME! hahaha...eyes off! For those of you who know me well, you'll know that I never usually keep what I make but this was for me from the start so it's going in my hall...or bedroom...or lounge...well somewhere because I love it.
And here it is -
Thanks Tessa x

Mini-break away!
Hi All
We're back from our mini holiday to K's in Suffolk - had a great time. All quilty deliveries for Eden have been made. She loves her Red Ellie-phant of course (favourite colour) as well as her blue Ollie-phant, and her Harriet Hare or her 'rabbit'. The curtains look really lovely in her room -
Bunting looks lovely too............
Jet really like the curtains so I've got an order for a sky/garden with trees/flowers/butterflies and ladybird bugs (buttons) like Eden's, and Brennan wants the TARDIS and Planets for his 'quilt' curtains...mmm that's me busy for a long time to come....
Also -
managed to complete 3 x Advent calendar kits to take with me, which they love and are looking forward to using them.....
Got lovely fabrics for my birthday off my family and of course, just had to pick up some 'rainy day' ½ metres, as well as fabrics for a cot quilt for a new baby boy in the family. My family are calling me a fabric addict now....what took them so long to realise!!!!!! hahaha

Underground Railroad block - Sail Boat
...and here's my Sail Boat block. I think there's one more block to make for this and a further optional block with the story on which I'll do too...
Lovely easy block to do. The blue 'sea' fabric I had on this yesterday, has now be replaced by a more muted fabric which I like better and it ties all the blocks together too.

Bunting for Eden's room
Hi All
Just finished Eden's room bunting - photos are not true colours as they are pastels rather than bolder colours as shown. Trouble photographing as too long for my walls so I've taken pics of each part of her name.
Photos are rubbish but it'll look so much nicer on her bedroom wall.

Introducing Ollie-phant for Eden
Hi All
Hope you're all well and looking forward to the promise of better weather this week, at least in the UK.
I've made a red 'phant' as requested by Eden named Ollie-phant and here she is with her buddy Effie-phant...

Hope she likes them and Harriet Hare. I'm still working on curtains and bunting for her bedroom then I'll be able to post to her. She thinks every parcel that arrives at her house are her toys.

A gift for Eden
Hi All
Here's the first of the toys, an 'Effiephant' for 3 year old Eden's bedroom. It has a pal called 'Olliephant' which will be done when I have a minute...or longer hahaha! This is the first time I've made one of these so used fabric I had in but will have to make a red one because she said, "Red is her most favouritist colour in the whole of the world."

Hen n chick wallhanging
Hi All
And here we are in Autumn. It's been really cold in the evenings in Essex this past week and rain, rain and more rain.
I had a great time at NEC so have booked my room again for next year ahead of any potential prices 'hikes' due to the 2012 Olympics.
I got an order from my 3 year old grandaughter for several calico animals for her new bedroom so I'm busy with the first Hare which is a bit bigger than planned but she'll love it! In the meantime, I've completed a small wallhanging for a friend so I thought I'd put it up here while I'm having a sewing break....
Hope all are well around the globe.......

It just needs 'steaming' and it's good to go! I'm pleased with it as I just had a picture to work with and my daughter wants one similar so the next one will be much quicker.

Poppy block from Jet
Hi All
I'd been looking at my 2010 Friendship blocks which still need 2 more blocks so I asked my grandaughter Jet-Leoni aged 7 years to design a block for me which I promised would go into my Dad's Memory quilt. Within half an hour, Jet had drawn and coloured her block and added her name up the stem, something that I haven't found the time to do in half a year..... I love the block and have now made this to add to all the other lovely blocks I got from PP friends around the world.
And here it is - Jet's is on the left and the one I made from her pattern is on the right.
Watch this space to see how long it takes me to do my own block hahaha!

Latest quilty work to date
Hi All
Not so good news - Work is still undecided so still in No man's land but plodding on....
Pretty good news - Nearing the end of my course so that's good as it'll give me more time to get involved with quilty-related swaps and to catch up with friends more often.
Very good news - Booked my room at Etap for 3 nights, got my train tickets really cheap (only £21 from South Essex to Birmingham Int. return) - saved over £30 whoopee, and hopefully have the tickets covered too.....
Here's my latest little quilty stuffs -
Order for a Father's Day gift for an elderly housebound man who loves birds
Double sided cushion cover -

Molly's Quilt & Tote bag
Hi All
Ooops! I made a mistake with the deadline for the quilt order for a friend. Thought I had about 2 weeks but I was wrong. I mixed up hers and my grandaughter's birthday so had to get on with it during my Easter holiday. YAY! happy to say all finished in time for her birthday party tomorrow. Just hope she likes it. I made a pillowcase for the quilt to go on Molly's bed which turns into a Tote bag for carrying to sleep-overs.
Here's the finished quilt & bag -

The quilt has 86 hearts quilted on it. The cover is a pillowcase with 3 layers of quilted petals on. The centre petals hide a photo of Molly and this turns into a Tote bag as the hidden handles are velcroed to the top of the pillow.
To all those who are unwell in Liverpool, Canada and UK, I hope you all feel better soon.

Gift for a friend, made from a gift from another friend.....
Hi All
Here is the latest smaller project I've made, a gift for a friend in her favourite colours, and she loves it!
The pattern is part of a range bought for me by another good friend and there are several different designs...all are quick easy projects.

Blocks and other stuff
Hi All
I've completed some smaller projects since the last time I posted. In between doing quilting, I made some cushion covers but won't be posting them here. This is Rosemary's Christmas block which felt quite weird doing it in almost Springtime. If you look closely you can see Santa through the net curtain and even Rudolph is helping as he leaves his sleigh and goes to put a bauble on the tree.

I've also completed my round of 2 Round Robins but can't post the photos yet as the owners haven't received them back yet but I did get mine back which is lovely and will post a photo of each of the 4 we did, at a later date.
Work is as ever, extremely busy but I've got plenty of other things on the go to keep me sane.

Town & Country wallhanging
Hi All
I've finally got back into 'my stride' after extended illness and finished the wallhanging for a friend who has moved house. It measures 27.5 x 18.5 ins and I just need to add the label which has an Irish blessing of offerings of bread, salt and wine so if she doesn't like it, that's all she'll be walking away with hahahaha! the bread, salt and wine....
Here's the finished item -

Underground Railroad block No. 6
Hi All
Once again I'm struggling with health problems which is a continuation of the virus I had in late November. The Doctor says it's a combination of post viral infection, fibromyalgia and asthma so at the moment I'm just resting and sleeping as no energy to do anything else....
I thought I'd put my latest Underground Railroad block up as I've now photographed it - here is my Basket block -

Just dropping by to say.....
Hi All
I've now completed my Row by Row swap YAY! so my last row is going into the post this week to Maggi. I hope you like it and it'll fit into your Swap quilt okay.
Photo to be posted when Maggi receives her row.
I've tried again to get onto FB but I don't seem to have the time to even find my way through how to do it at the moment.... I thought I'd managed, but ended up sending myself four messages at one stage, which is a pretty special talent Mmmm! but I'll keep trying when I get some time.
I need to get some Steam-a-Seam Lite ordered as I can't buy it locally. I need a softer feel for my granddaughter's appliqued quilt which is something I can do at night when sewing machine noise is out of the question.
Hope you are all well out there or at least feeling much better. I'm still sending positive thoughts your way.....you know who you are!

Wow doesn't time fly......
Hi All,
I can't believe it's been this long since I had time to post on here... like a lot of people, I've been ill with a virus and head cold since last posting and I'm still trying to get on top of the latter...
I hope you all had as good a Christmas and New Year as possible though I know some are dealing with their own problems...to them I send my love and positive thoughts your way....
So what have I been up to sewing-wise...I didn't feel much like doing anything while under the eweather so concentrated on easily achievable bits that took not too much thought, energy or time. Let's see -
I did the Carpenter's Wheel for the PP Underground Railroad BOM
and more recently the Bear's Paw BOM too. Looking forward to the next BOM soon.
I keep having to play around with the posting as photos jump all over the place so I'll post several times to catch up.
